Last week was filled with so many new learning experiences and lessons.  We attended Photo Rehab in the heart of the Rocky Mountains.  One of the many sessions we attended was hosted by Adonye Jaja.  Not only did we have the opportunity to photograph two amazing couples, but Adonye taught us how to make an emotional impact with our images using each couple’s unique dynamic.  This shoot allowed us to be creative with the images we shot and connect on a deeper, more personal level with our couples.

Paul and Kait are an extremely carefree, fun, and energetic couple.  They met through a plate of Christmas cookies.  Paul was eating cookies at a Christmas party and just had to know who could make something so delicious.  When it was brought to his attention that it was Kait who had made them, he knew he just had to meet her.  Cookie recipes chat turned into dates, dates turned into an engagement, and an engagement turned into a marriage.  I don’t think anyone could ask for more of a sweet meet cute.  It almost seems like something out of a Hallmark movie, right?

Hannah and Josh are very passionate and described their relationship as two wildfires meeting in the forest.  They had known each other since they were 16 years old.  When Josh and Hannah crossed paths, they both made up their minds to befriend the other.  They were drawn to each others strong personalities.  Hannah being strong-willed and athletic and Josh being outgoing and driven.  Soon enough they became best friends.  Hannah then realized she had more feelings for Josh than just friendship, the day she was going to confess her love, Josh beat her to it.  It is very obvious that their love has and will stand the test of time.

Both of these couples are obviously very different from the other. But each deserves to have their love story captured in a unique and beautiful way. Love can make the biggest impact on a life, we hope that these images convey such a powerful thing.
